Greetings! Welcome to FAT promotions, my very own little Web and Design business, run by not-so-little me! This site exists to serve two purposes:- Firstly, to enable me to gleen some feedback on the average surfer's reaction to web sites I have designed. See, if you've never had a web site before (and so far my customers haven't), whatever you end up with looks great to you. That doesn't help me find out what sort of person my style appeals to, or whether I'm hitting the mark at all! Secondly, I want to give something back. Having learnt so much from small business websites, I'd like to offer help and advice to anyone thinking of making a major career change, particularly to working from home. Also, I'd like to think I know enough about web site construction to help out if you're stuck, just drop me a line! The story so far... Having spent over 8 years in the graphic design / advertising industry, I became increasingly frustrated by getting patted on the head by my customers and patted on the ass by my boss! So I decided to make a change. Not a drastic one, and I'm still in the process of extricating myself from a regular paycheck, but I'm getting there! My growing interest in the web led me to discover that, although pretty much anyone who can read a manual can create a web site, without an eye for type, layout and design it can prove to be a handicap rather than a benefit. Some prime examples can be seen at Worst of the Web, always worth a look. So here I am building web sites in hours which suit me and my family, with no-one looking over my shoulder, and knowing that I will get the credit for a job well done. It's incredibly refreshing and I recommend to anyone dreaming of such a job to wake up and follow that dream.
